This historical research examined the Apostle Paul’s life and writings to determine how his three-fold educational background contributed to form his style of leadership and how his leadership can be relevant to higher education. Four related aspects of this issue were investigated through an examination of primary and secondary sources. This study investigated the Hebrew, Greek, and Roman educational system before and during Paul’s time. It explored how Paul’s writing reflects his education and examined what specifically the Apostle Paul learned from his education that may have influenced his leadership style. It also examined some key elements in literature on higher education leadership—specifically from theories that may be related to the Apostle Paul’s leadership style.
